Helen and Jonny’s Homestead Wedding

No amount of rain could dampen Helen and Jonny’s beautiful wedding day. Between pre-event photos at the grand Rupertswood Mansion and their wedding at the Emu Bottom Homestead, the festivities seamlessly blended old-school glamour with a relaxed rusticness.

After spending the night at the mansion with her bridal party — including her twin sister, sister, and best friend — Helen was relaxed and ready for a fun day, no matter what the forecast said.

Built in 1874, the Italianate Rupertswood Mansion was originally home to Sir William John Clarke, Australia’s first native-born Baronet, and it became a power seat in the great English tradition. It was a natural fit for Helen and her family, who originally hail from the U.K. With the ladies in hats and the boys in bow ties, everyone looked quite regal as we took photos in the stately library.

Afterward, we travelled just a few minutes down the road, where the couple exchanged vows on the gorgeous verandah of the Emu Bottom Homestead. As the rain fell on the slate roof, Helen and Jonny performed a lovely hand-fascinating ceremony to represent their new bond.

Post-ceremony, the guests enjoyed an impressive lemonade stand while we snapped up a break in the weather to grab some dramatic shots as dusk descended on the Homestead.
