Recently we had the opportunity to photograph Paul’s profile photos. Actually we’d photographed Paul once before, as a groomsman at his sister’s wedding! Paul more than anyone knows the importance of having a strong online profile, infact his job is all about being online!
We asked Paul about what he does and his experience of a Lizzy C Photography session:
What do you do?
Social Media Manager, Country Road
Tell me a bit about what you do.
Country Road’s social media channels are my domain.
I work with the business to set our social content and comms strategy, grow traffic and revenue from social channels, meet social customer service standards, drive customer acquisition, promote brand advocacy, analyse social data and conduct market research.
Tell me about how you got into your field.
It was an accident, really.
I was working for Country Road in a hybrid retail operations, social customer service and internal communications role, whilst completing an undergraduate degree with a view to postgrad law. Back then there was no social media role in the business, save my work with our Customer Service team, but the potential was there.
After a little discussion I was offered a 6 month trial to develop and execute a social media strategy for Country Road; needless to say it worked (thankfully!) and my role became permanent.
Why did you choose to hire Lizzy C Photography?
It was a gift (but a good one!).
After telling my sister about the time a social media marketing news outlet had published an interview with me using my not-so-professional Facebook profile picture, she decided it was time to upgrade my photographic options. She’d previously worked with Lizzy on her wedding photos, and couldn’t have been happier with them, so naturally she went to Lizzy for this too.
Tell us about your experience working with her. Were you happy with the results of your shoot?
I won’t lie; I was dreading the shoot for the entire month leading up to it. I’m often on photo shoots for work, and I’m not scared of an Instagram pic or two, but being in front of a professional camera had me terrified.
Luckily Lizzy is great at what she does. She was friendly, funny, understood that I was well out of my comfort zone and (somehow) managed to put me at easy enough to get some really great shots.
I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
