What do you do? Tell us a bit about what you do.
I am an international museum consultant, based in London, UK. My work that takes me to places like Canada, Sweden, Australia, the US, Taiwan, Armenia and Turkey.
I believe that museums are of value. They create personal value for visitors and they have an essential role to play in building healthy, civil societies. How do I communicate this? I write and I am a regular speaker at conferences but when I work with museum clients, my goal is to help them clarify, plan and measure the value that their institution can create with visitors, for the local community and as part of our wider public world.
Tell me about how you got into your field.
Museums were not my first career choice (community arts and education preceded my museum career) but sometimes, you just happen to be in the right place at the right time. At a point of transition in my education career, a position was advertised for the first job as a museum evaluation and audience research specialist in Australasia. I was immensely fortunate enough to get that job. The rest is history.
What is the best piece of career advice you’ve received?
If you don’t ask, you’ll never get!
Why did you choose to have professional profile photos taken and what will you use your portraits for?
I am refreshing my whole brand package-website, social media and business cards- so this is a great opportunity to get some new corporate photos.
Why did you choose to hire Lizzy C Photography?
I knew of Liz’s work and had followed her career and the development of Lizzy C Photography with interest. What impresses me is that she gives 115% focus to all her photographic subjects and produces results that are unforced and natural.
Tell us about your experience working with her. Were you happy with the results of your shoot?
I really like Liz’s professional approach. I am not a naturally relaxed person so Liz had her work cut out to make me enjoy the session. I did- and- I am delighted with the product.
