A Lizzy C Photography client.
We love working closely with our clients and learning more about what they do.
We have the opportunity to meet some interesting people in our portrait profile sessions and Psychologist Anneke Outred was no exception! Anneke is a psychologist who works with people of all walks of life, but with an interest in working with people who live and work abroad or away from home, or changing careers (expatriates, aid workers, diplomats, journalists, FIFO workers) which stemmed from her experience working as a International aid worker in places as far flung as Afghanistan.
What do you do?
I’m a psychologist who works with people of all walks of life, but with an interest in working with people who live and work abroad or away from home, or changing careers (expatriates, aid workers, diplomats, journalists, FIFO workers)
Tell me about how you got into your field.
Following burnout and stress in my job as an international aid worker i decided it was time to come home and take some care of myself. I love people and understanding how we all fit in the world, and psychology was a natural progression.
What is the best piece of career advice you’ve received?
Get to understand your unique strengths and use them to make tasks more fulfilling. And – Follow your own journey/path – no matter how drastic a career change you make, the tools you have learned can be transferred.
Why did you choose to hire Lizzy C Photography?
I wanted some real pictures of me, just being me. The lure of relaxed professional shots was alluring.
Tell us about your experience working with her. Were you happy with the results of your shoot?
Working with Liz was fantastic! She’s a chameleon and can change her style to suit what you need. She listens and is truly interested in your life, not just your photos. It’s awkward to be under the spotlight and in front of a camera, but Liz makes it feel like it something everyone does. The end result was just what I needed.
