Monday, September 14th, 2009Jovana and Devor’s wedding will be in the Yarra Valley later on this year. It sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun, with an importance placed on having a great party! I can’t wait to photograph their wedding.

Adioso @ the hive Melbourne | Melbourne Photographer
Friday, September 11th, 2009The most recent Hive event’s guest speakers were Tom and Fenn from Adioso. Adioso is a fully flexible and natural language flight tool. Basically, it is an awesome way to find and book flights online. I’ve personally used it numerous times and can’t stop raving about it…It just makes so much sense. You can type really vague searches such as Melbourne to Japan in October and it finds you all the discount flights for that route in October instead of having to search specifically for each airport in Japan or every date in October.
I actually first met Tom and Fenn about a year ago and they are just lovely down to earth guys who on a backpacking trip came up with an idea… So support adioso.com and keep an eye on their story as I am sure it will be the next big thing…

Sydney, A President and Miss Australia… | Melbourne Photographer
Thursday, July 30th, 2009While we were in Sydney, we had the opportunity to spend some time with José Ramos-Horta, the President of East Timor, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate and a driving force behind East Timorese independence for more than 30 years.
As soon as President Ramos-Horta speaks you begin to get a sense of the passion he has; not only for East Timor, but for making the entire world a better place. He had some really interesting things to say in regards to how individuals can make a difference, and seemed to have a strong respect for people who volunteered their time and resources to try to make a positive difference in the lives of others. It was a truly humbling experience to hear this from a man who has spent most of his life doing just that – fighting for the rights and freedoms of others.
I have photographed numerous politicians and leaders in the past, but President Ramos-Horta was completely different to any of them. For a man with such a distinguished political career he was humble and gracious, and made a point to acknowledge and thank everyone in the room for their presence and participation.
While in Sydney we also spent some time working with Caroline Perberton, a former Miss Australia who has agreed to be one of the spokespeople for the Change The World Project. Caroline is also passionate about making a positive difference in this world, and demonstrates this through her involvement as a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF. While her work with UNICEF has taken her from Kenya to Uganda, she is particularly passionate about the Baguia Orphanage in East Timor.
We also spent a great afternoon interviewing Sydneysiders about what they would do to change the world.
What would you do? Please leave a comment…
It’s all about Balance | Melbourne Commercial Photographer
Wednesday, July 15th, 2009Kate was looking for some new portrait photographs for her website and profile photographs for around the web. She is often quoted in the media as an expert in her field so she needed images she could supply to publications etc. as well. She is quite creative herself, which meant she had some great ideas. It was great to collaborate and work with her to produce images which illustrated her style and personality.

J & B’s Retro Inspired Wedding
Wednesday, April 8th, 2009Talking of true Melbourne style, check out the bride and groom!
Melissa Jacob from the ceremony store conducted Ben and Jessamy’s relaxed and quite amusing ceremony at the St Kilda botanic gardens which was followed by croquet in the gardens.
Ben and Jessamy have fond connections with St Kilda and liked the idea of including the urban landscape in their wedding photos. So we wandered from the ceremony to the reception and snapped some great shots on the way. Ben even became a part of the city landscape when a pigeon resting on an eve above decided to drop his business on Ben’s shirt! Ben and Jessamy weren’t phased at all, we had a good laugh and continued on! See photo of Jessamy tenderly wiping off said poop from Ben…
Ben and Jessamy I wish you all the best of luck (not that you’ll need it, thanks to that pigeon!)

Business profile photos

Have you ever thought about what potential clients think about you?
Everyone knows that it is important to make a good first impression. So you’ve got the bells and whistles website, a great product and you may even offer personalised customer service. Then why do your staff profile photographs make them look like escaped convicts, or worse, why aren’t there photos of you or your staff at all? Who is offering this personalised service?
Professional photographs illustrate a professional image. Why would you have a professional-looking website without professional content?
Jane from MIRO (Enterprise Management Solutions) approached me for some business profile images of herself which would provide a tangible face to a largely virtual business. Above all she wanted her photos to communicate the values of her business including professional, trustworthy, fun to work with and relaxed. The photos below are a small selection of photographs from her session.

Monday, January 19th, 2009It feels as if every doorway or window in Cuba has someone sitting or standing in them. Usually they are either watching the passers by, chatting to neighbours, or just hanging around.
