St Patrick’s Cathedral and Lakeside Wedding ~ Rachael and Brad

Monday, October 3rd, 2011

It was an absolute pleasure to photograph Rachael and Brad’s wedding. They are both just lovely. Rachael is extremely thoughtful and polite. She didn’t have a single frazzled moment  throughout what was a truly joyous wedding day. She just laughed, and enjoyed her wedding day. Nothing ever being too much trouble. And well Brad. He just kept grinning. Grinning with happiness and pride. His beautiful Rachael was now his wife!

Turning up to photograph Rachael and Brad’s wedding was like being reunited with old friends again. So many familiar faces. I’ve now photographed Rachel’s brother, Mike three times! All three times he has been a groomsman. Don’t think we didn’t joke that next time it must be his turn! Rachael’s lovely sister Jess and her husband Chris came over from Dubai to play important roles as Bridesmaid and Groomsmen. I photographed their wedding last year.  It was fantastic to catch up with them again!

Rachael and Brad were married at the amazingly impressive St Patrick’s Cathedral in Melbourne and had their reception at Lakeside in Taylor’s Lakes.

Sarah-Jane & Adrian’s Royal Botanical Gardens Wedding

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

I’ve been working away on Sarah-Jane’s and Adrian’s wedding photographs and I know they are super eager to see some photos, so I thought I’d post some today on the blog. Sarah-Jane and Adrian got married last month on a very warm day in February (which is hard to imagine considering the stormy days we’ve had of late!). They held the ceremony at Kings Domain in the Royal Botanical Gardens and were married by Deb Holder, who I’ve had the pleasure of working with before. Only after arriving at the ceremony were the guests presented with an envelope containing details of the surprise reception venue – this was just one of the many unique touches Sarah-Jane and Adrian added to their wedding. When the stunning Sarah-Jane arrived at Kings Domain, Adrian presented her with a single rose and they walked down the aisle together. Despite the heat, we all had a great time wandering around the city taking photos, catching trams and even stopping in on a hens party picnic to exchange congratulations! It was a very fun and very spontaneous day!  I am really looking forward to getting together with Adrian and Sarah- Jane to show them the rest of their photos!

Sarah-Jane wore a beautiful Mariana Hardwick dress and the cutest flat shoes!

Engagement portraits~ Edinburgh gardens

Monday, February 8th, 2010

I am a big fan of Melbourne. I grew up here, but I don’t think I really appreciated Melbourne until I went away for a while. Five years away can make you realise what you had and didn’t fully appreciate. It’s the small things. My friends in Queensland think that Melbourne weather is madness: Why would you live somewhere that gets so cold? Well, for starters, since we get so much dreary weather, we really go out and celebrate the warmth!

I noticed this on Sunday; the weather was balmy and it felt like everyone was out and about. Cafe tables on the sidewalk were buzzing and Edinburgh Gardens, where I did the photos for this shoot, was brimming with people playing cricket, walking dogs, having picnics and riding bikes. It was so nice to be out and about enjoying it with everyone.

Sarah-Jane and Adrian also have a fond affiliation with Melbourne and wanted it to play an important feature role in their wedding and engagement session photographs. Their first date was actually at Eureka Tower and Adrian proposed to Sarah- Jane in Edinburgh Gardens overlooking the city. Hence, it seemed fitting to do their engagement session at the Edinburgh Gardens!
