Sarah and Paul’s Emu Bottom Homestead Wedding {Slab Hut + Woolshed}

Sarah + Paul
A Rupertswood Mansion + Emu Bottom Homestead wedding in the Slab Hut & Woolshed

It was a real treat to start the day by meeting Sarah, the girls and her folks at Rupertswood Mansion, a grand old estate  just moments down the road from their wedding venue at Emu Bottom Homestead. The girls giggled and sipped champagne as Sarah’s parents looked on proudly. We all admired the beautiful bride who looked perfectly placed in the exquisite late 19th century Victorian mansion.

Melbourne really put on a weather show the day of Sarah and Paul’s wedding. It just couldn’t make up its mind. We had a little rain, a downpour and then some blissful sunshine. The rain didn’t manage to put a damper on the day at all. It stopped before Sarah even arrived, meaning she made a grand entrance into the cosy slab hut where Paul and the guests waited by a beautiful atmospheric fire, which made the intimate gathering feel even more special. The rain held off, allowing the guests to spill out into the property and enjoy the spectacular Australian bushland surrounding them. This gave us the perfect opportunity for us to wander around and enjoy the beautiful dramatic skies we could see from across the paddocks.

Sarah and Paul hosted their wedding gathering at Emu Bottom Homestead, chosen especially for its great country feel, despite it being only a short distance from Melbourne. Most of the guests came over from NZ or from different corners of Australia! Paul and Sarah originally come from NZ, a place they still hold dear.

What Sarah and Paul had to say about us and the photos…
Lizzy was fantastic! Both Paul and I are shy and don’t like being in front of a camera but Lizzy and made the whole process easy and made us feel comfortable from start to finish. She is so friendly and professional that we barely noticed that there was a photographer at the wedding, she was like one of the guests. We love Lizzy’s beautiful natural photographic style and can’t wait to see the rest of the images!!

From Lizzy:

Thanks Sarah and Paul, we had such a fun day and it was such an honour to play a part in such a beautiful and intimate day!
