It was such a hoot to work with Sarah creating a suite of images for her professional profile. She is kicking goals as a women in tech and needed some professional headshots to match! She’s got such a friendly, bubbly and colourful personality and she prides herself for her ability to work comfortably with everyone in the cyber security community – from developers to tech leaders. Therefore it was important that her profile and branding headshots reflected this.
What do you do? Tell us a bit about what you do.
I am a cloud security advocate. What that means is that I go and participate in the cyber security communities, meetup groups, events and conferences and take feedback from them back into my organisation to help improve our products.
Tell me about how you got into your field.
I have worked in tech for about 13 years now and have been actively involved in the cyber security community as an “extra curricular activity” for a number of years, so when the opportunity came to make it my job I jumped at it!
What is the best piece of career advice you’ve received?
Be respectful to everyone at work (even if you don’t particularly like them); never burn your bridges. You never know when you might see someone again down the line.
Why did you choose to have professional profile photos taken and what will you use your portraits for?
I speak at a lot of events and have to use headshots very frequently, so having good ones that 1. look like my best self and 2. reflect my personality and ethos is really important!
Why did you choose to hire Lizzy C Photography?
I loved Liz’s online portfolio that was full of photos that looked natural and not stiff and boring
and I also appreciated the feedback from her previous clients that she took the time to understand what they did so the pictures weren’t just bland, professional headshots.
Tell us about your experience working with her. Were you happy with the results of your shoot?
Liz was so fun and easy to work with and let me bring all my props (including the furry ones!) so we could take a large range of shots that I could pick from.
It was really hard to pick the final cut, I could have easily chosen far more!
I have a very prestigious conference (in my industry) to speak at in a few months’ time and I’m so pleased that I have some great photos to use for my speaker profile!
