Executive Headshots: Photographing your Executive Team
Why choose corporate photography for your executive team?
Executive portraits are versatile and can be featured in various communications such as annual reports, media articles, interviews, internal communications, marketing materials, and websites.
Capturing your executive team through photography allows both internal stakeholders and external partners to better understand your company’s identity, operations, and brand presence. People appreciate associating faces with names, and bespoke executive portraits help establish authority while fostering immediate trust with clients through high-quality imagery. These photographs also add a personal touch to your company’s image.
How do we do it?
Coordinating a photoshoot with multiple executives or board members can be challenging. We streamline this process by efficiently managing busy schedules, with sessions typically lasting 10-15 minutes per individual. Often, we photograph executives when they are gathered for events like planning days, conferences, or meetings.
Alternatively, the photoshoot can be split into multiple sessions to accommodate individual availability. We offer the flexibility of setting up a mobile studio at your location to minimise disruption or hosting sessions at our conveniently located studio in inner city Melbourne.
Each project is carefully planned and includes customised post-production to ensure polished results.
Portrait Photography Style
For executive portraits, we recommend capturing multiple styles, as these differ from standard corporate headshots in composition and context. A plain background works well for profiles such as LinkedIn or company websites, where polished business headshots are practical. Additionally, editorial or environmental portraits provide valuable options for media coverage, in-depth profiles, and annual reports. These can be created in sophisticated settings or with custom lighting, while on-location sessions capture authentic moments with natural expressions. Styles can be adapted to align with brand guidelines and target audiences.
What to Wear for Personal Branding
Advise your executives on appropriate attire before the session, considering practicality for their roles and the intended use of the images. Dress codes vary by industry and the image you wish to project. Generally, a jacket for men (with or without a tie) and avoiding sleeveless tops for women works well. Solid-colored garments tend to photograph best, and clothing should fit impeccably to avoid distractions or unflattering appearances.
Please inform us of your clothing style guide so we can ensure everyone is appropriately dressed. Grooming one to two weeks before the session contributes to a natural look. Encourage your team to arrive well-rested and hydrated, and to use glasses with anti-reflective coatings if needed. Clean, matte makeup and confident posture also enhance the final portraits.
Executive portraits can be used across a wide range of your communications including annual reports, media and press articles and interviews, internal communications, marketing materials and websites.
Photographing your executive team helps people within your organisation and other organisations you work with get a better understanding of who you are as a company, what your business does, and how your branding comes across. People like to be able to put a face to a name, and custom imagery helps establish authority while high-quality executive portraits build immediate trust with clients and create a strong first impression. Photographs also help personalise your company.
